Meeting!

Meeting TOMORROW at 6:00 PM in Benedict 1.124!!
We will be making VALENTINES so it will be an artsy craftsy meeting!

Brief overview of what we discussed in the first meeting:
We chose to focus this semester on the issue of puppy mills/Petland/adopting at shelters. So most events or activities we do will be over these issues. We have plenty of unrelated activities to do throughout the semester also, so I am also putting up a calendar.

Saca Newsletter- We plan on making at least one booklet that will be our own material and have recipes, information on what we’re doing, and ultimately be more interesting to read or pick up than a PETA pamphlet. We need to assign roles on each section.

Tabling: I have everyone’s potential tabling times, but I’m not sure how long everyone actually wants to table, so I am bringing that potential schedule, which the best days are Wednesday and Friday. Also, if anyone else wants to volunteer to table that would be great.

-2/10 or 2/12 we will be handing out Valentines with facts about puppy mills/Petland/adopting at shelters
- 3/12-3/27 Rodeo Protest
-3/20 Meatout – Get people to pledge to go veg for a week- Dress up as zombies!
-4/22 EARTH DAY – Inform people of the effects of factory farming on the environment
- ?/? Benefit show for Austin Pets Alive
-?/? We didn’t talk about this, but maybe another Vegan Potluck fundraiser
- ?/? - ?/? Protesting with the Petland Protestors/making better signs for them

-?/? APA raffle/dog walk (if benefit isn’t enough or doesn’t work out? Not sure if we can do both)
-?/? Pet Rock Fundraiser for APA. Adopt a rock in place of adopting a real dog from the shelter.

We have a lot of dates to fill in…

We will have informational on the issue on Monday along with making the Valentines so everyone is brought up to date.

Hopefully we will have some type of vegan treat as well.
